Alumni Fellow Shares Expertise on Next Generation Transport at Tokyo Workshop
Alumni Fellow Elizabeth Machek (pictured above) was a panelist at a Tokyo workshop organized by the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP), which was established by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI) in the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan. The November 15-17 SIP-adus Workshop brought international experts together to discuss the challenges of implementing Automated Driving Systems. Ms. Machek, a community planner in the Technology Innovation and Policy Division of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge (Massachusetts), participated in a panel on Next Generation Transport.
Ms. Machek participated in the Mike Mansfield Fellowship Program from 2008-2010. Her placements during her Fellowship year included Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as well local government offices and Tokyo Metro.
