Alumni Fellows News
August 17, 2017
Nine years after his placement with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (now Panasonic), alumni Fellow Bill Golike returned to Panasonic’s Tokyo office to meet with executives in the company’s International Relations Department. Mr. Golike, who currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Department of Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary for Global Markets, participated in the Mike Mansfield Fellowship Program as a representative of the Commerce Department from 2006-2008. During his Fellowship year he served in placements in Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Nippon Keidanren, and the office of Diet Member Hideki Makihara. He also spent one month at Panasonic, where he learned about the company’s operations and priorities and how it was using economic partnerships to produce more competitive products. His recent trip to Tokyo provided an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues at Panasonic and to meet with International Relations Department Director Masato Nakamura, Councilor Shuichi Yoshikawa, and Senior Manager Wataru Nomiyama (pictured above).
