Mansfield Alumni Fellow Reconnects with Sophia University

Alumni Fellow Howard Stone (MFP 19) recently met with three professors from Tokyo’s Sophia University while they were visiting Washington, DC. Howard completed a placement at Sophia during his Fellowship year and has maintained relationships with several professors and contacts at the University. He joined the three visiting professors for dinner, where they spoke about current issues in U.S.-Japan relations.

Howard’s ongoing connection to Sophia has helped other Fellows including Jeffrey Dallas(MFP 19) and Darrell Rico Doss (MFP 20) present talks at the university, and continues to or arrange for student delegations from Sophia to visit the Justice Department, his home agency, when they visit the DC area.
