Mansfield Fellows Discuss Journalism in Asia
October 18, 2018
Last Sunday, October 14, three members of the current class of Mike Mansfield Fellows participated in a public event at the International House of Japan entitled, “Journalism in Asia: Searching for the Truth.”
The event was a joint program of the Asia Leadership Fellow Program and Asia Pacific Young Leaders Program. It featured three journalists from Asia discussing the current condition of the media in the region, and the challenges facing journalism around the world. Participants then broke into groups for a closed-door discussion of media challenges in their native countries and potential solutions.
Logan Barlow (U.S. Air Force), Gabriel Mahns (U.S. Department of Transportation), and Tony Nakanishi (U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission) represented the Mansfield Fellowship Program at the event, joining participants from seven other fellowship programs.
