Mansfield Fellows Introduced to Traditional Pottery in Kanazawa
August 2, 2018
The twenty-third class of Mansfield Fellows are completing their seven-week Japanese language immersion in Ishikawa prefecture before they start their ten month placements. The program is intended to strengthen the new Fellows’ Japanese language skills and introduce them to aspects of Japan’s culture, economy, government, and education outside Tokyo. As part of their experience, the newest nine fellows enjoyed learning and making traditional pottery last Thursday, on July 26th at the Atelier & Gallery Creava in Kanazawa. Mansfield Fellow Gabriel Mahns (Federal Aviation Administration) can be seen pictured below sculpting his piece.
