Mansfield Fellows Participate in Joint Seminar
Last week four Mansfield Fellows joined young professionals from the Asia Leadership Fellow Program and the Nitobe Leadership Program to discuss the future of work, mobility, living, and entertainment in Tokyo. This was the third year Mansfield Fellows participated in the joint seminar, which provides opportunities to explore innovative pathways to a better society in 2035. This year the seminar served as a pre-session for the Innovative City Forum (ICF) 2016, an initiative committed to designing the future for global cities and lifestyles. Participants in the October 15 seminar discussed challenges and opportunities expected to shape the lifestyles of Tokyo residents in 2035. Their ideas were to be presented at the ICF “Future Tokyo Session: Tokyo 2035” on October 20. Mansfield Fellows Richard Gabbert (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) and Sean Wilson (U.S. Department of State), shown with the group in the photo above, participated in the seminar along with Mansfield Fellows Lauren Damme (U.S. Department of Labor) and Benjamin Foster (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission).
