MFP No. 20 Fellows Visit Toyota and Panasonic
Earlier this month the twentieth group of Mansfield Fellows learned more about the history and operations of two of Japan’s leading companies during visits to Toyota’s Nagoya facilities and Panasonic Center Tokyo. In Nagoya, the Fellows saw new Toyota vehicles and technologies at the Toyota Kaikan Museum before touring the Motomachi plant (pictured above). They also visited the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. At Panasonic Center Tokyo the Fellows learned about Panasonic’s history and founder Konosuke Matsushita’s business philosophy and participated in a Q&A session with Panasonic executives (pictured below). They also viewed the company’s current products as well as its concepts for addressing consumers’ future energy, transportation, and security needs. Toyota has provided this tour for the Mansfield Fellows since the Fellowship Program’s first year. Mansfield Fellows have visited Panasonic for the past nine years of the program.
